摘要

Turbine stator blades manufactured from alloys based on nickel or on chromium have been exposed for periods up to 100 hours to the corrosive products of combustion of a typical residual fuel oil, under conditions simulating operation in a gas turbine.nResults with Nimonic 80/1 blades give corrosion rates similar to those predicted by other workers and hence confirm the suitability of the test rig for comparative testing of alloys.nDespite the unsuitability of the method of stripping of scale deposits first used for chromium alloy E, it has been shown that this alloy possesses superior resistance to corrosion and warrants further testing using improved experimental techniques.
