MULTIPATH STUDY FOR A LOW ALTITUDE SATELLITE UTILIZING A DATA RELAY SATELLITE SYSTEM

The purpose of this study is to investigate the technical considerations associated with a low-altitude satellite (LAS) operating in conjunction with a data relay satellite system (DRSS). One of the major problems is interference in the communication link between the two satellites by transmitted radiation reflected and distorted by the earth's surface. This problem, termed "multipath," is the subject of this report.
