A great amount of research for the solution of linear inequalities has been undertaken in the past ten years. One of the reasons for this research is the development of linear separation approaches to pattern recogni¬tion1-5, 8-16 and threshold logic problems.679 Both of these problems require the determination of a decision function or decision functions which, in the case of linear separation, involve a system of linear inequalities.
