FIDEL - an optical model search code with spin-orbit terms for spin-1/2 and spin-1 particles

An optical model search code, which includes spin-orbit terms in the scattering and absorption potentials, for spin-l/2/particles has been developed for use on the IBM 360/50. The optical model computation is performed by modified sections of the DWBA code DWUCK. A value of x2 is calculated in terms of experimental and calculated values of the differential cross section and the vector polarization and is minimized with respect to specified parameters by subroutine FITTEM.
