REMOVAL OF THE REFLECTED PRESSURE PULSES FROM THE END OF A SHOCK TUBE (U)

摘要

This report summarizes the data obtained during the de¬velopment of a reflection eliminator to prevent positive or negative pressure pulses, generated by shock wave interaction with the end of a shock tube, propagating back up the expansion chamber.nThe study has shown that both the reflected positive and negative pressure pulses can be reduced to a very small amplitude by a flat plate placed at a predetermined distance downstream of the open end of the expansion chamber, or by a screen with adjustable openings attached to the open end of the expansion chamber.
