摘要

Use of malachite green as a fungicide in fish culture was terminated by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) on August 27,1991. Formalin has been the replacement antifungal agent, but the present registration restricts its use only to eggs of salmonids and esocids and there are concerns for safety to users and effluents in the environment. Selected candidate antifungal chemicals were tested on cultured fungus for growth inhibition or on infected eggs of rainbow trout to evaluate their antifungal activity.
