Environmental survey of the Heidrun Field 1993

This report presents the first regular bottom condition monitoring of the Heidrun field since the drilling program began in 1992. This is an oil and gas field at Haltenbanken on the coastal shelf NW of Troendelag about 175 km from the Norwegian coast. Physical, chemical, and biological aspects were characterized at 18 sites along four transect axes from the platform position. The conditions were generally similar to the conditions described in previous baseline studies, except that the fauna was strongly reduced since 1988, which presumably reflects a large natural variation. It is concluded that the operations and drilling activities in the field had not affected the bottom environment in significant ways. 19 refs., 50 figs., 25 tabs.
