Overview of the Receiving Basin for Offsite Fuels at the Savannah River Site

The Receiving Basin for Offsite Fuels at the Department of Energy's Savannah River Site nuclear materials production complex is a facility designed for and dedicated to the receipt, storage, and conditioning of spent nuclear fuel from offsite reactors. This paper provides an overview of the facility with emphasis on the processing, equipment, and safety features in the main facilities.
