Polymer-surfactant interactions in low tension polymer flooding

The thesis relating to the enhancement of petroleum recovery comprises six papers and manuscripts. Topics of the collected papers and manuscripts are: An evaluation of gel permeation chromatography in screening surfactant/polymer interactions of commercial products in saline aqueous solution; polymer-surfactant interactions studied by phase behavior, GPC and NMR; osmotic effects in gel permeation chromatography with multicomponent solvents; associative and repulsive interactions in polymer-surfactant systems studied by gel permeation chromatography; studies of the effects of exanthan on the phase behaviour of single-component surfactant/reservoir oil/brine systems using PVT-measurements; and nonequilibrium adsorption of ethoxylated sulfonate into reservoir cores in the presence of xanthan. 253 refs., 58 figs., 12 tabs.
