摘要

An approach for addressing weak-shock and non-shock initiation is proposed. The approach consists of merging the thermo-mechanical constitutive model ViscoSCRAM and the Henson-Smilowitz thermal ignition into a single algorithm. Initial studies have been done that reveal both successes but also issues that must be overcome before the approach can be deemed ready for practical applications. When completed, this approach will offer the possibility of performing simulations for many lab programs, including NCT. It will take strategic commitment from LANL programs to get to that point.
