Excitation of the high-spin (sup 180)Hf isomer and deexcitation of the (sup 180)Ta isomer in ((gamma),(gamma)') reactions

The reaction mechanism of excitation and deexcitation of the high-spin isomers (sup 180)Hf (J(sup (pi))=8(sup -)) and (sup 180)Ta (J(sup (pi))=9(sup -)) in inelastic gamma-quanta scattering was investigated. Anomalously large integral cross section and isomeric ratio for (sup 180)Ta in comparison with (sup 180)Hf were obtained.
