Parity nonconservation study with a polarized La target

The results of an experiment to study parity nonconservation in the interaction of unpolarized neutrons with longitudinally polarized (sup 139)La nuclei are presented. The results obtained allow the value of the weak interaction matrix element to be extracted, which was found equal to 4 MeV. 11 refs., 2 figs. (Atomindex citation 27:009446)
