Review of Ontario Hydro program to reduce fuel channel gap

The consultant was requested to report on the adequacy of quality assurance activities in the project management, engineering, and manufacturing parts of the project and to review and comment on the technical adequacy of the methods. The program involved three potential solutions or approaches. Each was designed to prevent fuel bundles shifting into the reactor core if there is fuel channel flow reversal. Each approach was also intended to reduce or eliminate fuel vibration and the consequential fretting observed in fuel channels with significant creep. (author). 4 figs. (Atomindex citation 27:051724)
