摘要

Microphysical processes influence the behavior of macroscopic variables and hence the dynamical processes on larger scales through the isotropization of the pressure tensor and through anomalous transport processes which affect the conservation and transport of momentum, energy, and magnetic flux. Using MHD simulations of the dynamic evolution of the magnetotail with deviations from ideal, isotropic, and isentropic MHD, it is demonstrated that each of these deviations may have drastic effects on the stability and dynamic behavior of the magnetotail.
