摘要

The working of a tubular bioreactor modelled by partial differential equations is characterized by biomass concentration and growth limiting substrate. It is studied through a comparison of two different sets of boundary conditions: the Danckwerts and the Romanainen. The latest facilitates the calculation as the requirements at the bioreactor outlet is given in form of an ordinary differential equation (instead of space gradient conditions in the Danckwerts formulation).
