摘要

Improved, more efficient natural gas transmission and deliverability systems will be essential for meeting the expected growth in U.S. gas demand in coming decades. Role of gas storage will be important. The most cost-effective means for providing the additional seasonal storage capacity and peak-day deliverability is to improve efficiency of the existing gas storage system (370 gas storage facilities and 17,000 gas storage wells). Up to 5 new fracture stimulation techniques will be field tested. Test sites have been acquired for the 1995 RD&D program.
