Four-photon decay of the neutral pion

The dominant contribution to the (pi)(sup 0) (yields) 4(gamma) branching ratio, coming from purely electromagnetic photon-splitting graph, is calculated. The result Br((pi)(sup 0) (yields) 4(gamma)) (approx equal) (2.6 (+-) 0.1) (center dot) 10(sup -11) is about three orders of magnitude below the present experimental limit. 13 refs., 1 fig.
