The original objective of this project was to create a comprehensive training and deployment program--suitable for in-person delivery in the New York metro region--focused on educating building commissioning authorities and energy auditors. The NJIT Center for Building Knowledge was to have sole responsibility for this curriculum development and deployment plan effort. Very early in the project timeline, however, the scope of the project evolved with DOE and NETL approval--to become a collaborative effort between NJIT and Portland Energy Conservation, Inc. (PECI). The structure of this collaboration involved PECI taking the lead on developing a comprehensive curriculum program suitable for in-person delivery, and NJIT taking the lead on turning this curriculum into a comprehensive online training program that would complement and extend the reach of the in-person curriculum.
