Nonlinear elastic properties of the piezoelectric crystal: GaPO4

These properties were investigated at high pressure/ordinary temperature and low temperature/ordinary pressure. Pressure dependence of the elastic constants (nonlinear behavior) shows that the GaPO4 crystal undergoes a structural phase transition around 14 GPa. This is tentatively correlated with a potential instability observed at low temperature (50 K).
