摘要

The objective was to identify possible future scenarios for the organization of the Latvian energy sector based on experience gained of strategies and official policies for the organization of the energy sectors in the member countries of the European Union, and of Denmark in particular. The organization of the Danish and the EU energy sectors are presented in addition to the role of local authorities in Denmark (and possible trends), the energy flow in today's energy markets in Latvia and the EU (IEA energy balances), the official forecast for the volume of energy markets in Latvia, the organization of the Latvian energy sector (production, transportation and distribution) and recommendations concerning the future organization of the Latvian energy sector with special attention paid to energy efficiency.
