Microbial profile modification of oil reservoirs in excess of 170 degrees F

The purpose of this project was to acquire cultures of microorganisms that can be used in selected oil reservoirs for profile modification in support of efforts to enhance the productivity of those reservoirs. The central assumption of the project is that microorganisms are likely to be present under most oil-field conditions and their activities can be stimulated for enhanced oil recovery.
