Variability of K(sub d) Values in Cementitious Materials and Sediments.

Measured distribution coefficients (Kd values) for environmental contaminants provide input data for performance assessments (PA) on the Savannah River Site (SRS) that evaluate physical and chemical phenomena for release of radionuclides from wasteforms, degradation of engineered components and subsequent transport of radionuclides through environmental media. This report contains results from two tasks. The first task measured Cs, Sr, I, and Eu Kd values with simulated saltstone. The second task consisted of a critical literature review and statistical analysis of soil Pu Kd values. For both tasks the statistical range and distribution were determined to assist stochastic modelers in site wide PA analyses.
