Workshop on Identification Methods for Pseudomonads

An international workshop on identification methods for Pseudomonas species was211u001eheld on August 7-8, 1997 at Virginia's Center for Innovative Technology. The 211u001eworkshop was a major component of a Cooperative Agreement between the American 211u001eType Culture Collection (ATCC) and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) 211u001eto evaluate various methods of identifying species of organisms that have 211u001eimportant applications in biotechnology. Co-funded by EPA, the U.S. Department of 211u001eEnergy, and the Canadian Food Inspection Agency, the workshop convened 211u001einternational experts in Pseudomonas taxonomy to evaluate plans for a decision 211u001esupport system that will guide users in selecting appropriate methods for 211u001eidentification of numerous species of this genus, especially the fluorescent 211u001especies. Laboratories in Australia, Belgium, Canada, Japan, Ukraine, U. K., and 211u001ethe USA were represented at the workshop.
