Theoretical calculation of loss by current coupling in a Rutherford-type cable.

The mutual interactions between any 2 filaments of the cable are represented by 2 elementary electric resistances: - along the length of a twist joint each filament has 2 contacts with each of the other filaments of the cable, this contact is represented by the R(sub c) resistance; - along the length of the cable each filament has a continuous contact with 2 other filaments, this contact is represented by the R(sub a) resistance. The calculation of the loss by coupling currents is made in 2 cases: infinite R(sub a), infinite R(sub c). (A.C.) 9 refs.
