Near Diffraction Limit Coherent Addition of Broad-Area Laser Diode Array.

摘要

In this paper, a coherent beam addition of an array consisting of 10 high-power broad-area laser diodes is demonstrated. Using an improved V-shaped external Talbot cavity, the near diffraction limit beam with high visibility (95-99%) was achieved. Coherent beam combination of lasers in array provides a promising way to achieve high quality emission with narrow spectrum line-width, thermal burden reduction, and consequently reduction of a system cost. Coherent beam combination of single-mode laser diode array in external Talbot cavity designs has been extensively studied.
