Apt coolant purification and plateout studies

As part of the Accelerator Production of Tritium (APT) project, experiments were211u001eperformed at the Los Alamos Neutron Science Center (LANSCE) to provide design 211u001edata and validate design methods for APT primary coolant purification systems. 211u001eThis paper describes the test facility, preliminary results, and plans for future 211u001ework. Gamma analyses of water samples show that ion exchange is more efficient 211u001ethan microfiltration for removal of the key spallation product Be-7, which is 211u001econsistent with previous studies.
