Upgrade of the Nuclear Material Protection, Control and Accounting System at the211 VNIIEF Industrial Zone

The Industrial Zone at the Russian Federal Nuclear Center/All-Russian Scientific211u001eResearch Institute of Experimental Physics (RFNC/VNEEF) consists of ten guarded 211u001eareas with twenty two material balance areas (A&As). The type of facilities in 211u001ethe Industrial Zone include storage sites, machine shops, research facilities, 211u001eand training facilities. Modernization of the Material Protection, Control and 211u001eAccounting (MPC&A) System at the Industrial Zone started in 1997. This paper 211u001eprovides a description of, the methodology/strategy used in the upgrade of the 211u001eMFC&A system.
