The Gordon Research Conference (GRC) on Microbial Population Biology was held at Plymouth State College, Plymouth, New Hampshire, July 18-23, 1999. The conference was well attended with 137 participants (list enclosed). The attendees represented the spectrum of endeavor in this field coming flom academia, industry, and government laboratories, both US and foreign scientists, senior researchers, young investigators, and students.
