摘要

In previous work, exponential convergence of Monte Carlo solutions using the211u001ereduced source method with Legendre expansion has been achieved only in one-211u001edimensional rod and slab geometries. In this paper, the method is applied to 211u001ethree-dimensional (right parallelepiped) problems, with resulting evidence 211u001esuggesting success. As implemented in this paper, the method approximates an 211u001eangular integral of the flux with a discrete-ordinates numerical quadrature. It 211u001eis possible that this approximation introduces an inconsistency that must be 211u001eaddressed.
