Final Report: Absorption Chiller Corrosion Protection, September 1, 1999-March211 31, 1999

Purpose: Corrosion control methods are needed by chiller rnanufacturers for the211u001eintroduction of new designs of high-efficiency triple-effect and direct-fired 211u001edouble-effect LiBr machines using high temperature stages. For lithium bromide 211u001esystems corrosion inhibitors are lacking that adequately protect mild steels, 211u001ewhile use of exotic alloys is cost-prohibitive. The purpose of the research 211u001eeffort is to identify cost-effective materials to be used in combination with new 211u001einhibitors to control corrosion in high-efficiency triple-effect absorption 211u001echillers.
