This paper discusses a series of experiments to visualize and measure flow fields211u001ein the Novacor left ventricular assist system (LVAS). The experiments utilize a 211u001emultiple exposure, optical imaging technique called fluorescent image tracking 211u001evelocimetry (FITV) to hack the motion of small, neutrally-buoyant particles in a 211u001eflowing fluid.
