Process Description and Operating History for the CPP-601/-640/-627 Fuel211 Reprocessing Complex at the Idaho National Engineering and Environmental 211 Laboratory

The Fuel Reprocessing Complex (FRC) at the Idaho Nuclear Technology and211u001eEngineering Center at the Idaho National Engineering and Environmental Laboratory 211u001ewas used for reprocessing spent nuclear fuel from the early 1950's until 1992. 211u001eThe reprocessing facilities are now scheduled to be deactivated. As part of the 211u001edeactivation process, three Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) interim 211u001estatus units located in the complex must be closed. This document gathers the 211u001ehistorical information necessary to provide a rational basis for the preparation 211u001eof a comprehensive closure plan. Included are descriptions of process operations 211u001eand the operating history of the FRC. A set of detailed tables record the service 211u001ehistory and present status of the process vessels and transfer lines.
