Validation of Finite Element Codes as Applied in Underground Mine Design.

摘要

The finite element method has been developed to the point where each of the four types of validation studies can be performed and significant contributions made by the numerical techniques during the design of underground structures. Appropriate examples of validation studies made using finite element codes will be presented. These illustrations will draw upon current work in assessing mine stability in bedded salt formations as well as upon important studies conducted by other analysts.
