Photodetachment of Electrons from Negative Ions in a 200-Kev Neutral Deuterium-Beam Source.

摘要

Photodetachment of electrons from negative ions is analyzed,showing how laser technology can enhance high energy neutral beam production. In particular,the performance of a 200-keV neutral beam source is analyzed using commercially available gallium-arsenide solid state lasers. The prospects for the development of an efficient system are good.
