Data Acquisition System for Transient Pulse Testing.

The transient pulse test is a nondestructive means for characterizing the bridgewire/explosive interface of a hot-wire explosive device. It produces an analog of resistance change in response to a square-wave electrical signal. A system has been devised to interpret the response using digital data processing equipment. The electrothermal analog is recorded as a series of discrete digital values. A programmable calculator reduces these data to mathematical expressions representing the initial and final states of the primary time constant. These expressions allow direct calculation of bridgewire interface parameters.
