Inclusive Decays B arrow DX and B arrow D()X

Measurements of weak decays of B mesons are essential to testing and understanding the standard model and determining the fundamental flavor-mixing parameters. These measurements also provide a unique opportunity to examine the short distance behavior of weak decays. Due to their large energy release, long distance corrections are expected to be less significant in hadronic B decay than in hadronic decays of charm and strange quarks. However, the formation of hadrons in the final state is still poorly understood and is an obstacle to prediciting rates and spectra for hadronic decays.
