Battelle Memorial Institute was requested by The Atomic Energy Commission to make a survey of the possible future consumption of vanadium in the steel industry if a substantial reduction in the price of vanadium could be attained. The survey was carried out by contacting technical personnel in the wrought-steel industry, steel-casting industry, and in the steel-consuming industry. This report describes the result of this survey in the light of known facts on vanadium consumption in the United States.
