PROPOSED TENTATIVE STANDARD CHEMICAL METHODS OF ANALYSIS FOR THE DETERMINATION OF IMPURITIES IN ZIRCONIUM

This report is a compilation of chemical methods of analysis which are proposed as "Tentative Standard Chemical Procedures for the Determination of Impurities in Zirconium Metal." Satisfactory results have been obtained by all methods when applied to the analysis of the zirconium standard samples MIT-IS and MTT-CBl. Most of the methods have been tested by two or more laboratories. Each method is accredited to the laboratory in which it was developed or was adapted to the analysis of zirconium.nThe research in the development of the chemical methods of analysis discussed in this report has been an important phase of the "Zirconium Standard Sample Program. The following laboratories have cooperated in this program.
