These measurements were intended to provide approximate values only, for use in design calculations until more accu¬rate data in the temperature range of interest becomes avail¬able. The thermal conductivities were measured under transient heat flow conditions — a method requiring a minimum of time and equipment and giving sufficient accuracy for the purpose. The measured conductivity of the uranium-chromium alloy agrees well with the value calculated from the conductivity of the pure component elements by Tareef's equation, suggesting that this same equation can be used to predict conductivities at higher temperatures. If this assumption is valid, the thermal conductivity of the uranium-chromium eutectic will be relatively constant from room temperature up to 600 c,
