PHOTOFLUORIMETERS FOR DETERMINATION OF URANIUM AND BERYLLIUM CONCENTRATIONS

Photofluorimetric equipment may be used for detection of trace quantities of uranium and beryllium. The uranium unit, described, will measure to 10-9 grams in a vitrified sample. The beryllium unit will measure to 5×10-9 grams in a liquid sample. Both utilize the same optical and electronic design but differ in mechanical layout. A. C. circuit techiques and use of a photomultiplier tube provide high stability and sensitivity.
