摘要

It is well known that processes in which molten metals and slags participate are of great significance for hydrometallurgy. During the last two decades many investigations have been published which deal with the study of the physico-chemical characteristics of liquid metallurgi-cal phases and also of their characteristics of interaction in hetero¬geneous systems. On the other hand, monographs and text books do not devote the necessary attention to their critical generalization.nIt is necessary to underscore that, in the development of the theo¬retical bases of-these technically most important processes, Soviet scientists are playing the leading role. They and, in particular, Ya. Ae Prenkel, have made a great contribution to the development of the general theory of the liquid state.nSignificant progress was attained in the development of the mechan¬isms and kinetics of phase changes, theory of transfer, and other prob¬lems by considering the specificity in the structure and nature of the thermal movement of the liquid particles.
