It was found that molybdenum is strongly held by strong base anion exchange resins these results Sodium hydroxide is an efficient regenerate for molybdenum. To determine the feasibility of using the ion exchange process on molybdenum containing liquors, a three column cyclic ion exchange test was run on Vitro leach liquors produced from June through November 1952. The feed to the Vitro plant during that time was a 60=20 mixture of Marysville and Temple Mountain ores. The results indicate that uranium can be economically recovered from these liquors by means of an ion exchange column system.
