CIGARETTE SMOKING, SERUM LIPOPROTEINS, AND CORONARY HEART DISEASE

A questionnaire was filled out at the time of physi¬cal examination to indicate smoking habits in a quantitative manner. The analysis below is based upon two groups:(a) those who claim never to have smoked cigarettes, cigars, or pipes and (b) those who are currently smoking 10 or more cigarettes daily. At the present time these groups are the only ones where sufficient numbers of subjects are available to warrant serious statistical analysis of the findings.
