Calculation of Effective Radii of Cylindrical Control Rods of Various Radii and Blackness

In the following report the effective radii of infinitely lone cylindrical contro1 rods of various radii and blacknesses have been calculated. The results are given in a graph at the end of the report.nAn ideal control rod is considered to be a cylindrical absorber at the surface of which the flux vanishes. It is apparent that in an actual control rod the flux goes to zero at some distance within the rod.
