摘要

A study has been made of the appearance in the electron microscope and the particle size distribution of particulate matter formed by heating a metal in helium at a definite pressure and collecting the particulate matter at various distances from the source. The following metals were studied:copper, silver, gold, aluminum, arsenic, antimony, bismuth, manganese, uranium, magnesium, cadmium zinc. Particle size distribution studies were made. It was shown that particle growth of magnesium can be influenced by the presence of copper.nElectron diffraction studies were made of single crystals of magnesium.
