Nuclear Considerations in Design of High-temperature Process-heat Reactors.

摘要

A qualitative discussion of how neutronics may affect the design of high-temperature process-heat reactors in ways other than might be anticipated from rules of thumb based on experience with low-temperature, thermal reactors is presented. The chemical and engineering problems of constructing, operating, and reprocessing high-temperature reactors arc, for the most part, given only passing mention, although an effort was made to emphasize moderators and absorbers which are available in ceramic form.
