Throttling and Blocking Tests for 2-inch P-K Paul Valve

The results of the sodium throttling tests are shown in Figure 1 in terms of percent valve opening versus percent sodiua flow for both 500ºF and 950°F sodiua.nAs nay be observed from the figure, the valve sho.v3 high throttling sensitivity (i.e., a large change in valve opening gives a small change in flow rate) at throttled flow rates which, for a given pump speed, are in excess of 50% of maximum capacity. At flow ratios below 50% the valve exhibits low sensitivity which mean6 throttling control is more difficult in this region.
