Metal saraples are converted to the oxide in a nmffle furnace and a one gram portion of the oxide i3 mixed vdth 100 mg. of chromic oxide. The mixture is pressed into the sample electrodo and excited in the d-c-are. Then the spectra are récorded photographically, measured photometrically and the calculated relativa intensity ratios referred to the approprjLate analítica! curves to determine the elemental concentrationa.
