The structural design basis outlined herein establishes general loading assumptions, performance and; design criteria, and essential minimum limitations for assuring acceptable structural reliability and safety of reactor pressure vessels and directly associated components under the individual and designated combinations of loading requirements specified for a particular installation (except for shipboard shock and vibration to which reference should be made in the applicable Equipment Specification).
