A Brief Literature Survey of High Strength Alloys with Emphasis on the Zirconium Niobium-X Ternary Systems

A very large volume of exploratory research has been initiative during recent years in the quest for sirconium alloys that would meet the rigorous high temperature service demands of several nuclear reactor applications. In most every instance, the development programs have but one general objective to replace the stainless steels with alloys of greater creep resistance and much lower neutron-capture cross section values.
